What you’ll be doing

As Creative Director, you will be the driving force behind our agency’s creative output. You will bring brand stories to life in more ways than just a fleeting advert: visually, conceptually and interactively; across platforms; and through the people who tell them and the people who experience them.

You will work with a diverse range of clients, from leading brands to ambitious companies that want to grow. Think Wolters Kluwer, Brussels Airport, Plantyn, Eneco, Audi and Efteling. These are brands that expect quality, and you deliver it.

Your role in detail

·      Creative vision and concept development

You set the creative direction for campaigns, brand platforms and digital experiences. You translate complex strategic challenges into strong, distinctive concepts, collaborating closely with experienced strategists and working across all channels, including digital, social, brand and e-commerce.

You know how to convey your vision clearly and convincingly to clients.

You consider not only ideas, but also impact, helping to raise the creative bar within iO on a structural basis.

·      Campaign and brand direction

You oversee the creative quality and consistency of all deliverables. From the initial idea to the final execution, you ensure that the work is sharp, relevant, and on brand.

You collaborate closely with strategists, marketers, and performance specialists to develop campaigns that are creatively robust and demonstrably impactful.

·      Team & coaching

You provide direction to designers and copywriters. You coach them, offer constructive feedback and help them grow professionally.

Together with the team lead, you establish clear development paths and foster a culture where creativity and craftsmanship go hand in hand.

·      Pitches and new business

You play a key role in pitch processes and new business opportunities. You bring iO’s creative story to life, convincing clients with strong ideas and a clear vision.

You establish iO as a distinctive creative partner.

  • Creativity in the AI era

You explore and define how creativity is evolving in a world where AI, data, and technology are playing an increasingly significant role.

You translate this evolution into practical applications for projects and clients, helping to restore creativity to its rightful place at the heart of what we do.

·      Impact & reputation

You actively contribute to strengthening our creative reputation both internally and externally, helping to establish iO as a leading player in the creative field.

 

What makes you the perfect Creative Director

  • Proven track record

You have a strong and varied portfolio (B2B, B2C and public sector) featuring work that combines branding, campaigns and digital. You have at least five years' experience working as a creative director in an agency or similar environment.

·      Leadership

You inspire and help people develop themselves. You provide clear, constructive feedback and know how to help teams improve in terms of both quality and impact.

  • Strategic insight

You work at a strategic level, understanding how brand positioning, target audiences and business objectives translate into strong, relevant creative choices. You collaborate closely with our strategy teams and a wide range of professionals, including strategists, designers, developers and marketers, to find the best solutions.

  • Digital DNA

You are familiar with digital-first environments, from social media campaigns to e-commerce platforms. You understand how creative work operates within a broader digital, data-driven context, and you are aware of the role that AI tools can play in creative processes.

  • Ownership & impact

You take responsibility for your work, your team and your impact. You don't just think in terms of ideas; you think in terms of results.

  • Languages

iO operates both nationally and internationally, so fluency in Dutch, French and English is essential.

 

Nice-to-have:

Experience in designing brand systems and scalable creative frameworks

A background in digital and/or performance marketing
