PepsiCo BeLux is part of PepsiCo Group - the second largest food company in the world with 274,000 employees, activities in 200 countries and net sales of over 66 billion dollars. Obviously, our company is often associated with Pepsi-Cola, but PepsiCo offers numerous other products on the market such as snacks, soft drinks, fruit juices, cold soups and cereals.

We are in the eighth place in Belgium in the food industry and we sell both drinks (Pepsi, 7UP, Looza, Tropicana, Mountain Dew, Gatorade) as food (Alvalle, Lay's, Smiths, Doritos, Duyvis, Quaker, Snack a Jacks). We are the undisputed leader in the area of salted snacks and nuts. Also in the segment of chilled juices, we have the largest premium brand. Within the food service industry, Looza is the reference. In the categories of juices, cold soups and breakfast foods such as oatmeal, we want to strengthen our position further and achieve growth. This goes along with the necessary investments in infrastructure and in research and development.

Three branches
Our headquarters is located in Zaventem. The two plants are located in Veurne and Zeebrugge - production sites, which are important sources of several other European PepsiCo markets. A part of our product range in Belgium and Luxembourg are imported from neighboring European countries. Refresco and Haacht handle the production and bottling of our soft drinks for the wholesale distribution and the food service industry. PepsiCo employs nearly 900 people in Belgium.

Category Manager Food

What is your role as a Category Manager Food?
You are part of the Category Team in the BeNeLux and together with Marketing and Sales you are responsible for our portfolio of Snacks and Grains. As a Category Manager you have an important central role within PepsiCo and you work closely together with colleagues in Sales, Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Shopper Insights & Business Analytics. You will fulfill your role by:
  • analyzing the market results based on GFK and Nielsen figures to know what’s happening in the Food category;
  • translating these results into concrete activities like product introductions, building an assortment and the roll-out of the category vision;
  • gaining insights in the category, retail and the shopper to introduce category expanding initiatives at our retail partners;
  • doing recommendations to realize growth possibilities for our customers but also for PepsiCo!

Furthermore, you also support the Senior Category Manager in making the strategic plans and the annual plans.

When will you be an interesting candidate?
As a Category Food Manager you are analytical and you have a can-do attitude and an optimistic mindset. You see opportunities and take initiatives. You show leadership to set the agenda, make projects and visions happen, be able to run multifunctional projects, be able to demonstrate influential impact at various levels and functions in the organization and with customers. 

But most important you will bring the next experience and skills to the table:
  • You have a master degree in Applied Economics, Commercial Sciences or Business Engineer;
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in a category management or adjacent function;
  • You speak fluently English and Dutch or French
  • FMCG knowledge: in-depth shopper insights and customer knowledge (retail) is a preference;

Also as a Category Food Manager, you are a team player, communicative and a good listener: you understand the customer internal and external you know how to influence him.
